Principal of Ridgetop Capital since its formation. Mr. Carpenter has over 26 years of real estate and institutional investment experience. Mr. Carpenter joined Lehman in 2005 as a direct hire into the Private Equity Group at the inception of Lehman’s inaugural Commercial Real Estate Mezzanine Fund. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Carpenter spent 16 years in the real estate departments at PNC Bank and BlackRock. At BlackRock, Mr. Carpenter was a top originator for their High Yield Real Estate Group, with responsibilities for structuring, underwriting, and origination of subordinate debt for a large number of institutional accounts.
Mr. Carpenter holds a BS and a BBA in Real Estate and Finance, and a masters degree in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Carpenter has lived in Pittsburgh the last 25 years and commuted to New York City from 2000-2009.
